Luminessence

Interactive Technology

Multimedia performance fusing live presence and video, through the use of innovative video projection and interactive technology, including projection onto 3D, performer tracking and silhouetting, merging multiple-projections and other clever stuff, using some patched-up, ad hoc technology. Choreographed for three dancers by Julia Clarke, with music by composer and long-time collaborator Michael Neil, this piece was created as part of performance research at the Dartington College of Arts, and premièred in June 2006. Technology has moved a great deal since those early days, but the result still compares well with contemporary productions.
