Twelve Seventy
Documentary
A full-length documentary film, commissioned by the Olympic Delivery Authority, a collaboration with Neville Gabie, Artist-In-Residence at the London 2012 Olympic Park. The film focuses on the staff involved in the construction of the park and in the preparations for the London Olympics, following Sam, a Turkish Cypriot woman who worked as a bus driver on site and is also a passionate long distance swimmer. It documents her daily routine, her colleagues and the building of the Olympic Park’s Aquatic Centre, designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, all woven together with footage of Sam’s long-distance swim, as the first woman to swim in the newly completed Olympic pool.
